The Lake Health Seminar held on Jun 8th at NKCC was well received

Vickie Hartog from PLiiNK introduced the seminar

Shoreline Health:

Doug Wellman walked us through the NORKLA web site and the references available to you, finishing with the Coalition of Haliburton Property Owners Association web site and their fantastic shoreline video, the Ribbon of Life showing the need for healthy shorelines and how you can make shorelines healthier.

Invasive Species:

Vickie Hartog next introduced PLiiNK and the reason for its existence.

Jeff Berthelette and Sarah Thorn from OFAH-ISAP introduced the Invasive Species Awareness Program, the Clean. Drain. Dry message and how it can help to reduce the spread of invasive species, and then provided eye-opening details about the various invasive species in Ontario.

Thanks to OFAH-ISAP and Loon Call Lake Cottagers’ Association for hosting this event.
